This phase two project in Kisarawe was focused on water and sanitation in 12 of the districts schools. It included 3 new boreholes in three schools and rehabilitation or construction of latrine blocks with handwashing facilities. Plan actively engaged 12 school committees with the District Water Department and provided Health and hygiene training in 12 schools. To complement other activites in the district, TCF also funded a Hydrogeological Survey in 9 Kisarawe wards and 6 project schools and a waterpoint mapping exercise in the 9 communities in which the 12 schools are located. The project benefited an estimated 8,800 people.
