This project was established to support the remarkable transformational programme that Save the Children’s Carol Perks was running in Xaibouly Province as they started their efforts to replicate the efforts in Nan District of Luang Prabang Province in Lao PDR. TCF funded the construction of three village medical clinics and provided them with essential medical equipment and furniture and trained the Clinic staff in equipment maintenance. In addition the Nan District Hospital was repaired and refurbished. All three village clinics (Khoktoum, Bparkmone and Narmoung) were generally of very good quality and is expected to last many years. The Nan District Hospital renovations were also of good quality and management very active and understandably proud of their achievements which made Nan District a model district for the rest of the country.
