This project was established to train 90 farmers in vanilla production and curing to help them take advantage of the favorable commercial opportunities for vanilla production in PNG at the time. The vanilla extension work was complemented with training for small holder rice farmers and also the rearing of ducks to improve the nutritional status of people in Hiri, Rigo District, Papua New Guinea.
