Following severe drought, Plan International was contracted by WFP to distribute food items to an estimated 131,000 people in Chiredzi in Southern Zimbabwe.
Plan Internationals participation in the Vulnerable Group Feeding (VGF) Program sponsored by WFP and TCF was lauded by WFP Country Director Jon Larsen, who said that Plans model for arranging the distribution was being implemented by several other organisations. Fluctuations in the food pipeline from WFP resulted in delays and the project was extended with a phase II under TCF067.
