As the Mulli Childrens Family organisation grew, the open field production of green beans at Ndalani was providing insufficient funding to run MCF. The project was designed to improve the income generation to the point where MCF would be self-sustainable through increased production and revenue. The project installed a drip irrigation system in open-land fields, constructed a greenhouse and invested in other supply chain essentials such as an airconditioned lorry and a cold room for sorting and storing.
The system was very impressive and cutting edge with respect to technology and MCF no doubt realised significant profit. The success was followed up by 2 more greenhouses in Yatta (TCF058)., ,
