234 GREAW South Sudan

As a part of World Vision South Sudan’s (WVSS) countrywide portfolio GREAW1was launched in July 2023. The GREAW project represents a significant moment in the global Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP)-World Vision (WV) partnership, as the first major attempt to operationalise the Positive Peace Framework (PPF) in a World Vision project. GREAW will take a co- creation approach, with IEP and WV partnering to develop tools, indicators, and other PPF programmatic resources. The project will also employ an active learning approach throughout implementation, using iterative PPF analyses to select, adjust, and scale up or down packages of activities corresponding to the PPF Pillars – with the end aim to directly enable 72,000 South Sudanese people to create and sustain the attitudes, institutions and structures for a peaceful society., The overall objective of the project is to improve the resilience of the community as a result of Positive Peace interventions, market-based and climate sensitive agriculture, economic opportunities, and WASH and nutrition priorities for 72,000 beneficiaries over the project’s lifespan. This work will be actioned through the promotion of income generating activities and the formation and training of saving groups (S4T). The marketing and business skills provided to project beneficiaries, through S4T, will allow them to establish their own small businesses in an effort to diversify their livelihoods and become economically empowered.
