160 Armed Violence Reduction Moroto

Following the disarming of the Karamajong, the Ugandan government posted additional police and military to Karamoja. To mitigate the conflicts and lack of trust between the security providers and the communities, the Danish Refugee Council run program aimed to develop the capacity of communities to mitigate conflict at all levels, and additionally reinforce the capacity of formal security providers to meet the security needs of the communities in order to underpin the potentially higher level of human capital and development by reducing armed violence and conflict in Karamoja.
