15 Kasulu Child Survival

15 Kasulu Child Survival

The Child Survival Project in Kasulu District was established to help the host community for Burundi and DRC refugees encamped outside Kasulu. The project consisted of a health promotion program delivered to the target population of about 38,000 people by training leaders and community members. The project aimed to decrease incidence of clinical attacks of malaria in children under five years and to enhance the health care of children and mothers. As evidenced by the photo taken in 2009, there are still some fundamental health and nutrition problems in these villages.
