126 Ghorahi Community Development Project

The Ghorahi Community Development Project sought to improve living conditions for Tharu ex-Kamaiya households and other poor households in three Wards in Ghorahi Municipality, Dang District, Nepal. In addition to Habitat for Humanity’s Save and Loan model providing the people with access to finance for the purpose of building durable homes, the project also worked on access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene education. It has subsequently been reported that the iniitial loans have all been repaid to the local partner and reloaned to other households resulting in upgraded housing for an additional 100 households.
