In this project Picha Mtaani brought the – Heal the Nation – documentary to 200,000 slum dwellers across Nairobi by partnering with football screening operators to hold 800 film screenings over a period of 8 weekends. This project exponentially increased the impact, and participant diversity compared to the original successful street photography exhibitions of of Picha Mtaani, which captivated and served as a call to action for hundreds of thousands of Kenyans nationwide to reconcile and unify across ethnic and political lines to ensure peaceful elections in 2012.
