On Friday 20th May 2022, an out-of-season Tropical Cyclone named Gina heavily impacted the southern provincial Island of Aneityum in Vanuatu. 450mm of rain falling in 24 hours devastated their food crops with and stripped citrus and fruit from trees and has heavily damaged the food supply for the approximate 1800 local Ni-vans that live on Aneityum Island. The Project supported emergency food supply for approx. 1800 local “Ni-vans” in 296 households along with cuttings, seedlings and packets of seeds of urgent root vegetable crops.
