The Xaibuli Womens Health Project was focused on providing advice regarding family planning, birth spacing, and the health of women and children. The implementing partner World Vision Laos (WWL) worked in Savannakhet Province since 1989. The project was an add-on to ongoing short-term emergency relief implemented in 1992, 1994, and 1995. From 1993 WVL started a general health programme in Xaibuli, which was expanded with this project in 1998. The project provided rehabilitation of several medical clinics in the Xaibuli district. The clinics appear to be in good shape and maintained over the years. The estimated number of direct beneficiaries were 30,000.
